Billing questions
Can we move between the three later?
Yes. The document library exports from any of the three and imports into another. Moving from Cloud to Self-Hosted is the common direction and we help with it.
What counts as an indexed file?
One document you have imported and that Chronicler has processed for search. Deleting a document frees the slot again.
Who pays for the language model?
On Cloud and Cloud Dedicated we do, within a fair-use ceiling. On Self-Hosted you supply your own OpenAI or Cohere key, or run Ollama locally, so there is no per-query bill from us at all.
What happens when a self-hosted license lapses?
The server keeps serving through a 72-hour grace window if our licensing service is unreachable. If the license itself has ended, gated routes stop responding until it is renewed. Your documents and database are untouched and stay on your disk.
Is there a free trial?
Talk to us. We would rather set up a real pilot with your documents than hand out a sandbox that proves nothing.
